Tens Of Investors Ready To Build Facilities In Mandalika

Lombok Tengah, W Nusa Tenggara, Oct 10 (Antara) - At least 13 foreign and domestic investors are interested in building facilities to support tourism development in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (KEK) in Lombok Tengah District, West Nusa Tenggara.

General Affair Executive of Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) I Gusti Lanang Bratasuta, said some of the investors had signed LUDA (Land Utilization Development Agreement) and Memorandum of Understanding.

"Of the 13 investors, six had signed LUDA, and the rest signed MoU," he said in Mandalika, on Tuesday.

He said the six investors already signing LUDA included ITDC to build Pullman hotel and Club Med hotel, PT Elmar Mitra Perkasa to build X2 hotel, PT Perusahaan Resort Indonesia Amerika to build Paramount hotel; PT Mosaique Jiva One Sky to build Royal Tulip hotel and PT Perusahaan Air Indonesia to build SWRO (Sea Water Reverse Osmosis).

Those still in the phase of signing MoU included PT Metro Lestari Utama, and PT Bangun Megatama Wisata, to operate and expand land, Sky Wealth (M) Sdn Bhd to operate and develop land and build a golf course; PT Delapan Menit Energy is to build solar cell, PT Alam Hijau Permata to build Pullman hotel and operate and develop land, PT Wijaya Karya to construct buildings utilizing land for hotel and villa houses; Vinci Grands Project to build a hotel, convention hall, retail and Moto GP circuit area.

Bratasuta said most investors utilize land close to the coast outside the Kuta beach 1.4 kilometers long.

"We (ITDC) is finalizing the process of infrastructure development mainly road infrastructure. Hopefully it would be finished soon," he said.

The Mandalika KEP occupies 1,250 hectares of land managed by PT ITDC, as a state company in the tourism sector. (*)
